APPLYING
For Your Permit

Step 1: Schedule an appointment at CWPappointment.com
Step 2: What to bring to your appointment 
A. Valid Photo ID 
B. Copy of Course Certificate 
C. Filing Fee: Do not bring cash 
D. Other Documents you may need
1. Name Change Documents 
a. For changes to your name, please provide a copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court documentation.

2. Arrest Records 
a. If you have ever been arrested, you should bring certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you.

3. Immigrants to the USA 
a. Permanent Resident Aliens - Must bring your green card 
b. Naturalized Citizens - Must bring your passport 

4. Military 
a. If you would like your permit to be expedited bring a copy of your DD Form 214, CAC Card or Military Orders.
 
5. LEO 
a. You will need to provide a copy of an official document that includes your date of retirement and the agency with which you retired. 
Step 3: The Following Steps will be Completed at your Appointment 
1. Complete Application - You will complete your application for a Concealed Weapons Permit as soon as your arrive 
2. Get Fingerprinted 
3. Passport Photo

Step 4: Sit Back and Relax 
Most people receive their permit within a few weeks, but the State has up to twelve weeks before they have to approve or deny your application.  During your appointment you will receive an application control number you can use this number to check the status of your application. You can also check the status on www.TampaCarry.com and click on the resources button, then click Applied for your Permit and Want to Check the Status?
